This day will focus on sharing stories to acknowledge the diverse pathways to neuroscience taken by HBCU grads. We will highlight their #BlackJourneytoNeuro, transitions in their neuroscience journey, and how their start at an HBCU changed their trajectory in career development.

  • Tell us about how you found your way to neuro on Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok using the hashtags #BlackJourneyToNeuro and #BINW22! If you’re an HBCU student or alumni, tell us about how being at an HBCU influenced your journey. Tag us @BlackInNeuro if you’d like us to share your story!

    • Please try to caption your videos, to ensure that folks who need captions can enjoy your content! Clipomatic is a great captioning app for iOS, and AutoCap is great for Android. If you generate automated captions, remember to proofread them and correct any errors.

    • When posting images, add alt text so people who are Blind or have low vision can participate fully in the community! Learn more about how to add alt text on Twitter and on Instagram.
