Christine Liu
Hello! I’m a neuroscientist by training and a self-taught artist on the side. I am currently pursuing a PhD at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at UC Berkeley where I study the neural circuits that respond to nicotine. I got interested in neuroscience due to a fascination with the profound effects that drugs can have on the brain, despite being just tiny molecules.
Science is very special to me, and I believe everyone deserves an earnest chance to pursue it. As I move forward in my career, I seek to serve the broader community by making science education more accessible and inclusive to all, especially people whose identities and interests have been traditionally marginalized in STEM.
You can find more information about my me on my website, as well as through Two Photon Art, the art collective I co-founded with environmental scientist Tera Johnson. I love all things art, neuroscience, & advocacy so don’t hesitate to reach out!
